Roger Wilco

This evening's dedication goes out to all the unsung singers, underplayed musicians, and unsigned bands rocking in obscurity. I'm not partial to the horns, but this is the best free copy available on the internet.

In other words, I was over Unger and Unger was over Dunn. Roger, over. Huh?

Selling the new Wilco at Starbucks now. I wanted to get it until I saw that. Of course that makes no sense, good tunes are good tunes regardless of where they are sold. Still, seems wrong. Fuck it, gonna get it. Unless you already have and think it sucks. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Good song; I like the horns--reminiscent of The Band. The only Wilco I have is the Yankee Hotel Foxtrot CD that I burned for Mucous some years ago. I rarely listen to it--Wilco to me is one of those bands that have good, midtempo songs, but none of them really light my fire.

Actually, I do have another CD of Wilco with British punk-folkie Billy Bragg, performing lost Woodie Guthrie songs (I know, it sounds lame, but it rocks); Bragg gives the band that kick they need, and I listen to that one(Mermaid Avenue) now and then.
